Summer Wars

A high-energy team competition featuring three Japanese guest climbers—two act as team captains (@ogata.yoshiyuki and @sohta_amagasa) and one as coach (@kai_hrd). Pick a side and climb alongside your captain, with every send contributing to team glory. The winning team earns an invite to an exclusive afterparty with the guests.

Entry: Tickets cost £25 and are non-refundable. Purchase via the gym's website or in person at reception. Ticket sales started on 19 July and are currently open. Format: A team battle with two teams (Team Sohta and Team Yoshi). Each team has two climbing sessions, and participants climb alongside their captain and coach. There are also individual awards for male, female, and junior categories. Schedule: Registration opens at 9:00 AM. Team sessions run from 10:00 AM to 4:45 PM (two sessions per team). The final and prize ceremony takes place from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, followed by the winner's party from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Extras: Cold beer and soft drinks are available at the afterparty; you are also welcome to bring your own drinks. Attendees can also try the competition problems in the days leading up to the event, and there will be live coaching available during the competition.
